Kim and Jason — Engaged and in love!

Erika and I had a total blast the other day in Cleveland doing photos from Kim and Jason.
By now you might be wondering if we are stationed out of Ohio near the Cleveland area. No, we are still based in Chicago. But that's the fun part about our job. We get to travel everywhere as photographers, photographing cool people like Kim and Jason who value the beauty of their lives in photos.
North, to South, to East, to West, there isn't a edge of this country we haven't at least photographed a wedding in once.

I actually just had someone call me wanting me to advertise with them to "help" grow our business... and I was like, Dude, unless you can get us to photograph a wedding in Hawaii or the USVI I'm not sure I need your help for $400 a month. By the Lord's blessing I didn't spend a dime this past 2 years on advertising and I'm not sure I ever will again. One year I spent almost $4k on advertising and it simply wasn't worth it.

You might be wondering why I'm telling you all this. Well, Jason and Kim are the perfect example of what I'm talking about. The way they found out about us is because they were at a wedding that we were photographing.
I'll never forget Jason and Kim coming up to me while I was setting up a light at the reception and they wanted my card. We got to meet up again a day or two later and we became their wedding photographers.
I'm sure they talked to Meghan and Joe, (The wedding we meet at.) to make sure they were happy with all the work we had done for them so far too.

And that's the best way to get work. It's not by google putting us in the top 3 for 6 months.
I like to approach each photography job with this in mind and I believe God blesses it,

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favour rather than silver and gold."
~Proverbs 22:1

If I can earn you saying something nice about us and our business either friend to friend or even on facebook, that is worth as much to me as gold and silver! That's why every time someone is willing to hit the share button on my photos or blog, they are blessing me more than I can afford to pay back!

Anyways, just some random thoughts I had that some of you business minded followers of mine might like to know about my business. Oh, and btw, this way hasn't failed yet for getting us clients WE LOVE to work with.

 Jason and Kim have style.

I love the spot light affect.

One of my top favs right here.

That light makes me happy. I got pretty stoked after doing this.

Good taste in shoes is one of those things we notice.
If you know my wife and I, we are all about shoes!
Yes, this means, Kim and Jason are that much cooler.

they are totally and completely in love and it's so much fun to photograph!

I don't know, but this might be my favorite picture from their engagement session too. Is it possible to "favorite" multiple photos?

Yeah, we love their photos from their engagement session. What a great time we had too! Thanks for coming and checking out their photos here!

Signing off for today. God bless your socks off,

Meghan and Joe... tied the knot!

This last week I had the honor of not only photographing Meghan and Joe's wedding, but also meeting up with a couple from their wedding and talking over the idea of me photographing their wedding this July. It's been a fun trip and a fun time too! Photographing Meghan and Joe's wedding couldn't have been more fun because not only were the colors on the trees perfect, the weather great, and a beautiful couple, it was fun because it's one of my my Wife and Brother-in-law's best friends... so they were both actually in the wedding!

So here are a few the images from Meghan and Joe's wedding. Enjoy!

I like dress pictures if there is time and the bride is good with me taking it for a few minutes.

And ring shots, another picture that when I collect all the rings the groom is sure to tell me to be careful and lot lose them. lol. It happens every time. But I TOTALLY get it now that I've gotten married and you know how much those little things cost. Honestly though, this is a fun shot to do. Meghan's roses were perfect and great for this!

I like these photos of Joe getting ready.

My amazing wife, was in this wedding! :D

The little flower girl cried the whole way, but she made it and it was cute!

The flower girl wasn't the only one to shed a tear or two coming down the aisle.

It was good to see Joe lose a tear too. I say two because I was crying pretty hard at my wedding.
I especially enjoyed watching Joe as the moment grew closer and closer you could see it all sinking in. The moment he and his Love had been waiting 7 years for.

Everyone enjoyed this moment!

One of my favs of this wedding party! Oh yeah! Super cool!

I took this upside-down and flip the image later in my editing program. But one of the groomsmen asked, "Since you are taking this upside-down do we need to frown to get a smile?"

The Bride and Maid of honor

Men in the making.

Boy band shot.
Obviously, Joe is the lead singer.

And now for the fun pictures... the couple! I love this part of the day! Wow, they are finally married and loving this moment! It's was easy to get great shots of these two at this point! :)

I love fall weddings!!!!

They were both beaming with joy and happiness! I LOVED it!

Since my own wedding, I've grown to notice the ring on the grooms hand.
I never realized how awesome that is till my wife got to wear a ring the whole time we were engaged and I didn't get to wear one till we were married. That's a big deal. One worthy of a picture, ya know?

Gold!

Another fav!

These flowers were so perfect all day! It was great!

I was standing on a swing... yeah, Joe had to hold me up! :D It was great! lol! Anything to get a great shot like this!!!

Just filled up another spot in the workshops I'm teaching in Tampa this January, there are still a few spots left if you would like to be one of the students. Check out the info here!
