Brooke & John's canvas

So right off there is a LOT to be said about this photo session than I can go
into today. LOL. Oh my word!
To list a few:
• I thought I was going to get rained out,
• Doubtfully drove to Willmington, IL from Milwaukee (where I was photographing Olympic speed skaters along with my brother, or course)
• Saw the weather totally change,
• got thorns in my butt,
• climbed over barbed-wire fences with expensive camera gear,
• laid in goat poop,
• had leaves thrown on me multiple times,
• got up in a deer stand so I could take images of the their whole landscape,
• laughed my head off, created magically images with golden hour ... the list goes on and on!

So all that to say, there are lots more images to post from this and stories to be told. But since I'm so pressed for time I will just post a few images here of one of the canvases they ordered and brought by my house so I could see it too.

24x16" It's a pretty impressive size.
Sorry I did a cheap job of color correcting the pictures of the pictures.  :)

The contest isn't over yet but thanks to all of your kind support it looks like I'm going to win by a landslide. YOU all ROCK MY WORLD! Thank you so much!

Hope you all have a MARVELOUS Thanksgiving with lots of family, fun, turkey and of course gratefulness in your hearts for the one who blesses us with all blessings.

I entered a contest for fun... I need your help.

If you guys would vote for this picture that would be just awesome! But only if you really like it.

All you have to do to vote is "like" and or comment on my image.
In order to vote on the image you have to "Like" their page. I don't care if you "un-like" the page right after you vote, but I thought it would be cool to actually win a wedding photography contest but I will need your help.

This is the image I'm entering. Let me know what you think by going and voting! Thank!!

Not sure what the story is here but I noticed this taking place too! LOL. (Groom's sister) I'm sure there is a funny story.

The maid of honor and best friend of the bride.

I LOVE how much happens in less than one minute, a matter of seconds, once the Bride steps into the room.
EVERYTHING changes and it's a beautiful!

Today I did a quick skim of some blogs and read of one of my friend's blog—Photography by Jack. He's doing a creative drive that I really like and admire! Jack has been a student of all of the workshops I've done thus far and is a good friend. I see many qualities of a real man in him. He has character and guards his words and actions accordingly. A good photographer and you can't help but like this guy! ANYWAYS... I could go on and on.

But today he is doing a bit of a contest, and I thought you all might like to share in the fun too!He asked a simple question... one that I thought would be fun to share in: "Leave a comment on this post or my Photography by Jack Facebook page with a short line on what you love about photography." Now, my answer couldn't be short. I think that's why I wont win. lol. I can't be short with a question like that.

It really got me thinking, and so I figured I'd share my answer to such questions with you. Here is what I wrote when I started thinking about it and it turned out to be anything but a "short line."

"As a wedding photographer, a man deeply in love, a people lover, a seeker of enjoying and living life to the hilt every moment I believe to be the will of God, I cannot help but be very passionate in saving these moments of LIFE. This life that I live will NEVER to be lived again. Your life will never be lived again. Only YOU can love the way you do. Only I can love the way I do. To create nostalgia and inflict pain of the lingering moments of a time too wonderful... yet never to be lived again in any other way but in your heart and in my images. To testify of beauty and redeem it's necessary quality in our lives. The challenge is one I will never fully fulfill and the goal to make images that don't just say 1 word, but truly speak forth tomes of truth and beauty. That is my goal, my passion, my love for my art, photography."

THEN just to give myself a chance at winning I enter one more quick reason why I love photography.

"I love being a visual story-teller of LIFE the way only I can see it... I guess that's the short answer to why I love photography."

I can't wait to see what you all put down for why you love photography on his blog, (If you feel like it copy and pasting your answer on my blog just for fun I would LOVE to see what you write! That would be so cool! Granted I'm not doing a giveaway.
