The gift of a daughter...

While I shot this wedding there was a line going through my head the whole day, "Britton, I know you will take care of me." Megan's dad, said this to me a couple weeks before the wedding and it meant a lot to me. Of course I do that for all my clients, but there is nothing like knowing they are confident in you. It was so much fun to hit this one out of the park too. That night I meet up with them all after the wedding for dinner and I had posted a few of their images on my blog already and they were TOTALLY stoked!

I know I just posted a blog talking about how unbelievable it is every time a father gives away the hand of his daughter to another man... Which as you probably know I am thinking a LOT about... just because of the fact that I'm getting married August 20, 2011... :D (Yeah, I can't wait.)

But this little detail at Megan's wedding I really appreciated!
She wanted Russell to come and meet her at the edge of the aisle where her and her father would be waiting... for him to receive her, his bride.
I really liked it!
And it worked so well because of the way the area was laid out. It was really cool. I have some great images of tears coming down Megan's dad's eyes ... but I'll save those for them. :)
 Just such a sweet moment!

Then before you know, they are living their forever after! Wow, I can't believe I've only got one more wedding to photograph in Minnesota before I'll be married. And then it's my turn.. to enter into the most holy thing a person can do outside salvation. Entering into a covenant relationship. Wow, marriage is such an awesome God given gift.

Okay, so on another note... to my Florida friends... I'm getting ready to do 2 different Photography by Britton workshops in TAMPA FLORIDA this January... I can't wait to give you more details! But it's going to be GREAT! One for Beginners and one for more advanced photographers who just want to get their business in a more up and going place. Can't wait! You won't want to miss out!

The maid of honor and best friend of the bride.

I LOVE how much happens in less than one minute, a matter of seconds, once the Bride steps into the room.
EVERYTHING changes and it's a beautiful!

Today I did a quick skim of some blogs and read of one of my friend's blog—Photography by Jack. He's doing a creative drive that I really like and admire! Jack has been a student of all of the workshops I've done thus far and is a good friend. I see many qualities of a real man in him. He has character and guards his words and actions accordingly. A good photographer and you can't help but like this guy! ANYWAYS... I could go on and on.

But today he is doing a bit of a contest, and I thought you all might like to share in the fun too!He asked a simple question... one that I thought would be fun to share in: "Leave a comment on this post or my Photography by Jack Facebook page with a short line on what you love about photography." Now, my answer couldn't be short. I think that's why I wont win. lol. I can't be short with a question like that.

It really got me thinking, and so I figured I'd share my answer to such questions with you. Here is what I wrote when I started thinking about it and it turned out to be anything but a "short line."

"As a wedding photographer, a man deeply in love, a people lover, a seeker of enjoying and living life to the hilt every moment I believe to be the will of God, I cannot help but be very passionate in saving these moments of LIFE. This life that I live will NEVER to be lived again. Your life will never be lived again. Only YOU can love the way you do. Only I can love the way I do. To create nostalgia and inflict pain of the lingering moments of a time too wonderful... yet never to be lived again in any other way but in your heart and in my images. To testify of beauty and redeem it's necessary quality in our lives. The challenge is one I will never fully fulfill and the goal to make images that don't just say 1 word, but truly speak forth tomes of truth and beauty. That is my goal, my passion, my love for my art, photography."

THEN just to give myself a chance at winning I enter one more quick reason why I love photography.

"I love being a visual story-teller of LIFE the way only I can see it... I guess that's the short answer to why I love photography."

I can't wait to see what you all put down for why you love photography on his blog, (If you feel like it copy and pasting your answer on my blog just for fun I would LOVE to see what you write! That would be so cool! Granted I'm not doing a giveaway.
