Oakley Felber

I promised in my post, "World meet Oakley Felber" more photos... and here they are. Again, he is only 14 hours old here and we did act fast to keep him warm. So yeah. I think I might have change the blanket to a brown one had I just a tad more time... but 15 minutes isn't bad. And it was better than us waiting till we got back from the wedding in SC.

And I think Mrs. Erickson, Oakley's Grandmother will be so excited to have these photos posted on her birthday!!! :) Happy Birthday, Mrs. Erickson! If you all know Mrs. E make sure you stop by her Facebook and tell her happy birthday!

Such a cute little guy!!
I could really see getting into newborn photography. It's actually a TON of fun!

Intense detail of shells.

Please tell me which you like the best in the comments!

So why is Britton taking pictures of the shells you might ask.
Well, I'll tell you! :)
I was on the phone with a friend and they were telling me about their bathroom remodeling project and that they were looking for some black and white canvas of seashells that they could put in the bathroom.
Yeah, they are beach freaks like we are too. So I get how hard it is to find good dramatic images of shells like they were looking for, so I offered to try my art at getting something better than they could find. I think I did it too! (We are hoping they go with like a 48x48" too. if you go to my Facebook page I'll show you the detail in two of these images so you too can see how awesome that would be!)

For those of you who are camera how to dudes this is shot with two off camera flashes maybe a inch higher that the shell on either side. This brings out the most detail in the shells and doesn't just make it flat. I set my camera at f/16 for a lot of Depth of field (DOF) since the closer you get to something the smaller that DOF gets.

So I couldn't help grabbing some wedding rings while I was doing this and having some fun with them too! The neckless has the original diamond that was on her ring. But as we all know, as your love grows through the years the diamond must grow too, right? :)

This is probably one of my favorite shells. This one and the starfish. I'm going to put two up-close shots of these two on my Facebook page if you want to see how tight the detail is of these shells. It's pretty cool. You will have to check it out!
