Today is your BEST day...

I wanted to write a short bit out of a favorite little daily devotional that really got me excited. It's call Today is Your Best Day (Devotional Journal). It's a simple short one a day kind of book. It's not a make you feel good message but really does just point you to the truth of who we are in Christ and who Christ IS for us and is a reminder of WHY today is ALWAYS your best day! I can't even tell you how much this book has encouraged me and I hope you get a copy for yourself!

Jesus' Death on the cross has also made is possible for this day to be your best day. He took your sins upon Himself so that you could be forgiven; so that you could receive eternal life; so that you could be justified; so that you could have peace with God; so that you could be His bride' so that you could know Him, love Him, and serve Him; so that you could carry the hope of heaven in your heart today.

These are just a few flowers I found in my yard. :) And I liked this one as a abstract kind of happy feel. lol. Only the edge of a single petal is in focus.

Sunflower field or field of smiles?

I've always wanted to find a field full of sunflowers to take pictures of before I die! Well, I did! YAY!!! I was just driving out in the middle of the country and there it was! I was pretty happy.

I tweeted (I think that's a word now) about this field and before I know it one of my photographer buddies is calling me and inquire about location. HAHA. It's cool! I hope he did well too! I'm not out to hide it.

HDR.... I don't really do HDR images like this very often (The image above).... but I thought it would be fun this once.

Flowers for you.

I got this lens a few months ago... back when dogwoods were still in bloom but forgot to post this. :) 

Shallow depth of field—I LOVE it. I'm using the Canon 50mm 1.4/f lens here for this image and loving it. I'm heading out to do a unique photo session tonight with a cool couple to get some .... um ... well, it's going to be cool and I don't want to ruin the surprise. :) Let's just say it's going to rock the socks off the guest at their reception. I am so excited!!!
